Dear saints,

I trust you had a wonderful Father’s Day.  Check out my sermon from yesterday, which is attached above.  There are some things in the printed message that were left out due to time constraints.  It is a biblical message, and it is a hoot!  God’s stuff is fun and always renewing.

Some important things are coming up.  Take heed of the following:

BIG GOD-AND-COUNTRY EVENT ON SUNDAY, JULY 7

On this Sunday, we will seek to glean spiritual lessons from the life of Samuel Quincy Adams.  A skit will unfold in the worship service.  Tables will be set up in the sanctuary and decorated in a God-and-Country motif.  There will be nothing political about the service; rather, it will be a genuine celebration of an important piece of our American history.  I am counting on you to bring family and friends. And I’ll have a gift for everyone.

HERITAGE GIRLS AND PIONEER BOYS

We are on the precipice of receiving our charter to the Heritage Girls program.  More than 100 girls on the eastern side of Cincinnati are looking to join this incredible alternative to the Girl Scouts of America.  We will actually own the group, which is designed to fit the belief statements of our church.  Shortly, Heritage Boys will be up and running, but for now, we will initiate Pioneer Boys.  Melissa Gabbard will make a brief presentation on Sunday, June 30.  Our start-up costs are about $1,200, and we plan to take an offering.  We have been told (and this has been my experience in ministry) that parents will follow their kids to our church because of this.  This is an incredible program.  I was introduced to this ministry in my last DC meeting, and this portends great things for our ministry.

RODNEY DUKES PREACHING THIS SUNDAY

Rodney Dukes will be holding forth this Sunday morning, preaching at the 10:30 service.  I will be there to give the blessing.  Also, Brother Jack is away, and we will be listening to a wonderful sermon from Dr. R.C. Sproul on the parables, with lots of discussion following.

NIKKI POSTENRIEDER IN HONDURAS THROUGH THE 26th

Nikki Postenrieder is on a medical missions trip to Honduras in just a matter of days.  Please pray for her, as well as for Grace Simunek.

BELIEVING GOD--TWELVE BIBLE PROMISES FOR YOUR LIFE—

THE FOLLOWING MONDAYS AT 7 P.M.

The twelve lesson study will be done in six weeks. The schedule is as follows:

June 24 - Lessons five and six - CHILDREN ARE A HERITAGE AND THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART.

July 1 and/or July 8 - make up sessions if required.

Saints, did you know we have a social media presence?

That's right, we have a Facebook page!  The link to our page is above.  There are several churches with the same name as ours on Facebook, so be sure to use the provided link.  You'll know it's the right page; our cover photo is the church, and the profile picture is that of Pastor Ed.

We want to let everyone know about it, and ask you to please 'like' our page!  Tell your Facebook friends!  Get ready!

It is a new thing for FCFC and we want to build a strong following.  We have some great plans for using the page to spread the Gospel throughout Facebook - and we need you to help us do that.  Be sure to tell your connections and share our page!

Future plans include posting sermon synopses that can be shared, having live chat times with Pastor Ed on various topics, of course posting of our upcoming events, church announcements, and so forth.  Facebook is a live interactive site, and with millions of users around the world, it is an excellent platform for spreading the news of Jesus Christ.  We are excited about it, and we hope you are, too.

See you on Facebook!

Saints we should hold up in prayer:

Bob Montagner

Chris Perkins, Mona Jean’s brother-in-law, underwent surgery for a huge hernia on Monday.  His last surgery was difficult, but he is now making a fine recovery.  All went well.  He will be in the hospital five to seven days.

Tyler Bertsch (grandson of Wayne & Havalyn Andrews):  He is currently distressed and out of control, and the family is seeking help for him.
